The MCGA Food Bank
Since 1995
The Hopelink Food Bank Garden is the brainchild of Jack MacKinnon, MCGA’s first president, and co-founder. Michelle Raymond, MCGA’s other co-founder, and former board president continues the legacy as lead food bank garden manager.
MCGA began its partnership with Hopelink in 2006. Annually, we produce and donate 8,000 to 10,000 lbs. (3629 to 4536 kg) of fresh organic produce for Hopelink Redmond. Crops such as onions, tomatoes, carrots, leeks, beets, squash, cucumbers, beans, tomatillos, and peppers are planted, tended, and harvested by gardeners throughout the entire growing season. Then, MCGA’s dedicated team of drivers, led by Michelle Udasco, delivers the produce daily (starting June-end of the season) from the food bank garden to Hopelink.
